Louisiana declares State of Emergency and Prohibits Telephonic Solicitation (Updated)

*UPDATE: As of July 15, 2019 at 2:00pm CT, the LPSC has been released from mandatory EOC presence and telephonic solicitations into the state can resume in compliance with the general provisions of the LPSC Do Not Call Program General Order, LPSC General Order R-29617. 

Effective Thursday, July 11, 2019, the State of Louisiana declared a State of Emergency in preparation for the potential landfall of Tropical Storm Barry. Officials anticipate storm surge, hurricane-force winds, and up to 15 inches of rain across the state.

Anticipating severe weather, the Louisiana Public Service Commission has ordered a mandatory prohibition on solicitation. Currently, telephonic solicitations into Louisiana are prohibited under the general provisions of the LPSC Do Not Call Program General Order, LPSC General Order R-29617.
